The workshops I design nurture restorative creative development experiences in imaginative formats. The guiding philosophy embraces craft, story, organic process, idea-sharing, and togetherness. They bring spaciousness to creative practice and build relationships with ourselves, each other, and the world around us, sometimes in nature.
Inspired by Years of Community Engagement
With a long history of art-making, print design, art journal design, event curation, and online art magazine publishing, Karen designs small group and one-on-one workshops with creative immersion experiences for events or individual practice. Karen has been a Minnesota Master Naturalist volunteer since 2022.

Being in nature deepens connection with ourselves, each other, and the living world. Creative Flow offers one-on-one or small group nature-immersive workshops for Creative & Brand Development. This workshop is designed to energize. This is meaningful work that creates an underpinning for creative exploration, connective focus, and intention-setting. Your ideas take root off-screen, with the option to work in a nature-immersive setting. We’ll close the computer, meet up where the birds sing, walk, talk, dream, and nurture spaciousness.
Wonder Walks
Noticing Tiny Worlds to Cultivate Curiosity
Slowing down in natural settings allows us to experience the world around us more deeply—and that’s when we begin to notice tiny worlds. Take a walk with artist, designer, and Minnesota Master Naturalist Karen Kopacz to gather tiny tings, make tiny art, and cultivate curiosity and creativity. In this workshop, Karen shares stories about some of the tiny worlds in her drawings and practices she returns to in her journey to the small.
This workshop was originally designed for Prairie Star Care Farm’s September 30, 2023 fundraising event As Above So Below in Princeton, Minnesota.
